Kuala Lumpur, 20 November 2007 - RHB Bank Bhd (“RHB Bank”) has won another accolade for its innovative electronic banking services at the ACM “Best @ Show Awards” – its fourth since it began participating in the annual ACM Expo & Forum.

The bank received the Best eBanking Solution award for its full suite of services that come with its Reflex Cash Management and Reflex eHR2 Online Payroll facilities.

“This recognition at one of the top tradeshows for the ICT and media industry in Asia underlines the fact that RHB Bank has become a leader in providing innovative electronic banking solutions to meet all customer needs,” Group Managing Director of RHB Banking Group Michael J. Barrett said.

“This award will spur our team to continue developing even better services to meet the increasingly greater demands from customers,” he added.

Reflex Cash Management, which RHB Bank launched in August this year, is a secure and convenient channel that enables users to obtain instant updates of their company accounts. It also enables them to perform various banking transactions, including enquiry of account balances, counter rates and overdraft, bill payments, fund transfers and cheque management.

The e-banking solution has been introduced to cater to the banking needs of most of its business customers. Business owners, directors and managers can now manage their company’s financial affairs anytime anywhere so long as they have access to a desktop or laptop computer.

The Reflex eHR2 Online Payroll takes away the hassles of payroll paperwork by providing the service of online payment of salaries as well as statutory payments to the EPF, Socso, income tax, insurance and unit trust.

These electronic banking solutions, Mr Barrett pointed out, had enabled companies to save time and resources that could be channelled to other areas such as sales and marketing, thus helping businesses improve profitability further.

“Our e-banking solutions are now helping companies operate more efficiently, just like how we have helped individuals perform various banking transactions with ease and at their own convenience since we launched our Internet banking facility,” he added.

For its role in the development of e-banking in Malaysia over the past few years, RHB Bank has won an award at every ACM “Best @ Show Awards” since 2004. In that year, it was awarded the Most Innovative eService Solution prize, followed in 2005 by the Best New Service award. Last year, the bank received the Best eCommercial Portal award.

The annual ACM Expo & Forum event has brought together more than 10,000 trade visitors and thousands of exhibitors from across Asia, and more than RM105 million worth of business deals and countless partnerships have been sealed during the expo and forum.

It is organised in conjunction with the Malaysia ICT Month and the awards are given out in recognition for excellence in emerging technology, services and software showcased at the event. This year’s event was from 20 November to 22 November 2007.
