Kuala Lumpur, 18 November 2003 - eBworx Berhad (eBworx") announced that it had on 18 November 2004, entered into a Project Agreement with BEA Systems HK Ltd, Hong Kong ("BEA") to implement a Digital Retail Internet Banking System ("DRIB") for CITIC Ka Wah Bank Limited, Hong Kong ("CTKW").
This project marks a milestone for eBworx as it is eBworx's first venture into the North Asia market. eBworx will be teaming up with BEA, who will responsible for the overall project management.
The DRIB to be deployed is a comprehensive banking solution that will allow individuals and small and medium enterprises to transact via the Internet and forms part of eBworx’s proprietary suite of products developed for financial institutions.
CTKW is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CITIC International Financial Holdings Limited ("CIFH"), which in turn is 56%-owned by China International Trust and Investment Corporation ("CITIC").
CITIC Ka Wah Bank operates thirty-four branches in Hong Kong, one (1) branch each in New York and Los Angeles, USA, respectively and maintains one (1) representative office each in Beijing and Shanghai, China, respectively.
